Antonio Cromartie’s Child Support Issues
on April 20th, 2012 at 11:56 amAntonio Cromartie Owes $300,000 in Child Supports
Jet’s corner Antonio Cromartie’s situation, or more accurately, his 10 situations, have brought the irresponsible spending of some professional athletes to light. Cromartie is famous for having his now ten kids (according to the New York Post, twins are on the way) by eight baby mamas in six states. He recently re-signed for four years, $32 million but already owes close to $300,000 per month in child support. Lucky for Cromartie, he doesn’t have to pay child support for the last two children, Jurzie and Jagger, because they are by his wife Terricka Cason.
Cromartie Not Alone in Issue
Typically, athletes like Scottie Pippen, Allen Iverson, and most recently, Warren Sapp, struggle with lofty spending during their careers. Cromartie might need a few more four year contracts to keep up with expenses because like the aforementioned athletes, the well can dry up faster than anticipated. It might have helped pay the bills if he had accepted a reality show proposal bringing all of his children together; however, he declined. Can you blame him, who really wants to see that, especially after his gaffe on Hard Knocks where he forgot his child’s name.
All things considered, I GUESS it is better that he have baby mama drama instead of blowing away all of his money on cars, gambling, evading taxes, and poppin’ bottles. Regardless, there must be a culture change to help mollify this issue. Telling these guys to watch out for sneaky, exploitative people AFTER college isn’t helping anyone. In the fact, Cro’s first child came while he was still at Florida State.
