Serena Williams Set On Winning First Singles Gold Medal in 2012 Olympics

Serena WilliamsAfter Winning the Stanford 2012 WTA title against Coco Vandeweghe, an unexpected American finalist in this years final,Serena Williams total title count now stands at 43. Her focus shifts to this years’ Olympic games in London,both Williams sisters are no strangers to the Olympics games, winning the tennis doubles at Sydney Australia in 2000 and again in Bejing China in 2008. Her sister Venus won her singles gold medal back in 2000, something that Serena hopes to accomplish this time around especially since this may be her last appearance at an Olympic game. When asked how she felt if she did win this Olympics single gold medal:

“It would mean a lot to me, but I can’t lay all my hopes and dreams on just that,” she said. “But it would mean a lot. I would like to try to get one.”

Based upon the phenomenal career of Serena which includes countless titles the Olympics singles gold medal is the only thing is missing from her collection.
