Serena Williams Wins U.S. Open With Comeback Win
Serena Williams wins her fourth U.S. Open in incredible fashion. Williams rallied back to win after being down two points to Victoria Azarenka, winning the match 6-2,2-6,7-5.
Azarenka gave Serena the biggest challenge she has faced all year, nearly beating her in two straight sets. Even Serena thought she wouldn’t be able to beat the number one ranked woman in the world.
According to AP:
“I honestly can’t believe I won. I really was preparing my runner-up speech, because I thought, `Man, she’s playing so great,” Williams said.
“I’m really shocked.”
Williams continues her success adding to wins at Wimbledon and the Olympics. This win was her best finals of the year so far. Could be possible a signature win in her outstanding career.
