Which State had the Best Sports Year?

Which college area had the best sports 2011-2012 season? It’s definitely between two areas: Texas and Ohio. Baylor sports showed out this year in football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball. Ohio might have outstaged them with four men’s basketball teams heading to the tournament.
Texas – Baylor
It was an amazing year for the Baylor Bears. Robert Griffin aka RG3 brought the first Heisman to the University. He’s so good he’s definitely going to number two in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft to the Washington Redskins. Before he became rich, he won the Alamo Bowl against Washington 67-58. (The highest-scoring bowl game in history) Griffin won the AP Player of the Year before he decided to enter the draft. Yes, he’s doing big things but Brittney Griner (AP Player of the Year) is doing bigger. The junior and the Lady Bears are Women’s NCAA National Champions. Tuesday, they beat the Skylar Diggins Notre Dame Fighting Irish 80-61. Did I mention men’s basketball went to the Elite 8? Baylor is one of the best schools in Texas right now. Their recruiting trips are about to be on point!
Ohio -Four Schools
University of Ohio, Ohio State, University of Cinncinnati, and Xavier University all made it to the Sweet Sixteen this year. It was the first time four schools from the same state made it to the Sweet Sixteen. Ohio played and lost regular season powerhouse UNC 73-65. Xavier played and lost to Pierre Jackson and the Baylor Bears 75-70. Cincy and Ohio State played each other. Even though the Wildcats lost to the Buckeyes 81-66, Ohio State ended up losing to Kansas 64-62 in the Final Four. In addition to their heavy appearance in the NCAA tourney, they also won some conferences in football. Ohio won the Mid-American Conference (MAC) 10-4 while Cincy took the Big East 10-3.
And the winner is…
I think the winner is…….BAYLOR BEARS! They’ve got so much going on and I think RG3 took the cake for them anyways.
